As we embark on a new academic quarter, it is my pleasure to share the School of Education’s successes from this fall:

•	We increased our credential program applications by 20% and enrollment by almost 30%.
•	We provided professional development for over 2,000 teachers from throughout California and the nation.
•	We enjoyed a record year of funding for research on critical issues and practices in education.

These successes are just a few among many that are advancing the quality of life on a local and national level. I, along with the 34 faculty, 65 staff, 170 teaching credential students, 143 masters students and 159 doctoral students who make up our school, believe that we can affect and support change in schools and community colleges.

With that in mind, I hope you will invest in our students, our faculty and our collective work this year. Your gift will strengthen our position as a leader for positive change.
