In 2011, our faculty conducted powerful research that led to significant knowledge gains in their respective fields and prestigious recognition. Dean James E.K. Hildreth continued his groundbreaking HIV/AIDS research and was honored with the NIH Director's Pioneer Award; Jodi Nunnari, Professor and Chair of Molecular and Cellular Biology, led research that could lead to advances in treating or preventing heart attack or stroke; and, Simon Chan, Assistant Professor of Plant Biology and member of the first-ever class of Howard Hughes Medical Institute Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation (HHMI-GBMF) Investigators, began a plant breeding revolution that could help feed the world’s population.
Groundbreaking research and students’ participation in discoveries of this caliber distinguish CBS from many other schools in the country. Please consider a gift today to support the College of Biological Sciences.
